

Job Description: Head of Global Partnerships
Position Type: Flexible. Full-Time.
Location: Fully Remote, ideally based in any Asian country.
Reports to: Global Engagement Director, Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative
Satat Sampada, a partner of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative, is seeking a Head of Global Partnerships who is passionate about social and environmental justice. This is a senior position that requires a proactive, organized, and adaptable individual who has the skills and qualifications to support a dynamic global team.
We are looking for a professional with over 5 years’ experience in the climate change and environment sector, with strong relationship-building, communication skills and partnership management. The role will be overseeing the Treaty Initiative’s engagement with the partner organisations, sub-granting, coordinating outreach to others and deepening our engagement across our key constituencies and regions.
The total compensation package for this role, including benefits, will be in the range of 65,000-80,000 USD per annum. The contractual amount will be commensurate with experience and adjusted based on location.
Key Responsibilities

Working to build, support, connect and mobilise a diverse global coalition of organisations and individuals calling for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Leading the sub-granting, partnership management and deepening engagement with partners in various geographical regions, including with key constituencies such as labour, human rights, Indigenous peoples.

Act as a focal point for exploring and managing new partnerships in Asia.

Line manage several staff members within the partnership team and work in conjunction with partners and contractors.

Supporting the Campaigns, Policy and Communications teams in activating partners to engage in key campaign moments and mobilisations to build awareness of the Treaty and foster public support and political momentum for phasing out fossil fuels in target regions and with powerful constituencies.

Coordinate with regional campaign leads to ensure partners are engaged and active in regional campaign strategies, events and activities.

Engaging with other members of the International Support Team and partners, in producing and distributing content, through various platforms to build momentum globally behind the campaign for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Identifying key lessons to share recommendations with the International Support Team, Working Groups and Steering Committee, where relevant.

Reporting periodically on the advancement of various tasks and projects, acknowledge challenges, and collaboratively manage partnerships to achieve the goals and objectives. Includes providing update reports on the status of sub-grants and partner relationships to feed into funder reporting requirements.

Required experience and attributes

Working in partnership with organisations globally, managing relationships and deep understanding of relational dynamics within the civil society sector, preferably in the field of climate and environmental justice.

Strong leadership, strategic planning and skills for managing remote teams based globally.

Highly developed time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as part of a remote team.

Experience in facilitating meetings and workshops, both in person and online.

Ability to work collaboratively with partners for developing project proposals and various communication products (articles, blogs, op-eds etc.)

Should have a high performance drive, be a self-starter, an initiator and a creative thinker

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

A resilient and flexible team player who is a quick learner and can work well with a globally distributed team across multiple time zones

Demonstrated experience in working in teams across differences, including race, class, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, language fluency, etc.
